Privacy Policy
Elder is a career coaching app built around a personality assessment. Because the app works by understanding you, we want to be plain about what we collect, why, and what control you have over it. This policy covers the Elder iOS app and is provided by The Product Partners Limited ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales.
What we collect
Account information
You sign in with LinkedIn. We receive your name, email address, and profile photo from LinkedIn when you authorise the connection. We do not receive your LinkedIn password or post to your LinkedIn account.
Career and personality information
The app asks about your career: your role, the domains you work in, your goals, skills you want to strengthen, and what's blocking you. It also asks up to 24 personality assessment questions. We store your answers and the resulting personality profile, including framework results such as your Big Five scores, MBTI type, DISC style, and related measures.
Coaching content
Messages you send to the AI coach, and the details you share when preparing for or debriefing a meeting, are stored so the app can keep your conversation history and improve your coaching over time.
Subscription and usage information
If you subscribe to PRO, the purchase is processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status, never your payment card details. We also record basic product events, such as when an assessment is completed or a message is sent, to understand how the app is used.
How we use it
To personalise your coaching. Your personality profile and career information shape every response the AI coach gives you. This is the core function of the app.
To generate AI responses. Your messages, assessment answers, and career context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic processes this data to generate responses and does not use it to train its models under the commercial terms we operate on.
To manage your subscription and enforce free-tier limits.
To send you notifications you've enabled, such as a reminder to debrief after a meeting. You can turn these off in your device settings at any time.
To improve the product, using aggregated usage events.
We do not sell your data. We do not show advertising. We do not share your personality profile with employers, recruiters, or any third party.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers to run Elder:
Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting of our backend functions.
Anthropic — AI processing for coaching responses and assessment narration.
RevenueCat — subscription management.
Apple — payment processing and app distribution.
LinkedIn — sign-in only.
Each provider processes data only as needed to provide its service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account from the You tab in the app, your profile, assessment results, conversations, and meeting history are deleted from our systems. Some records may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being purged.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we process it. The quickest route for deletion is the Delete Account option in the app. For anything else, contact us at the address below and we'll respond within one month.
Children
Elder is a career tool and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the effective date above and let you know in the app before the change applies.
